This year we have been learning about our New Zealand Culture and comparing it to cultures around the world.
New Zealand Game Boards
We have been learning about our New Zealand culture and New Zealand icons. To show our learning we made a game board. We had to choose a New Zealand city and make our way to different areas of New Zealand. In our game we had to stop in different cities and had to learn about those city’s and what you could do there. To make our game board we had to insert pictures in the middle of the game board and in some of the squares of our game board. We also had to make some game cards.
Learning about other cultures
With the excitement of the 2011 Rugby World Cup we decided to find out more about other cultures and compared them to us. We chose a country from the RWC and had to investigate. We had to research:
Capital City
Population
The Teams name
Their uniform
Something special about the country
The Country Icon
To present our work we made a papier mâché ball and put our information on it. Then we had to write about our ball going on a journey. Next we had to take photos of our ball going on the journey. The pictures had to connect to our stories. We made a photostory to present our story.
